Wireless Charging Stand
A stand keeps the phone upright while it charges, so the screen stays readable and standby modes keep working. WECENT builds Qi2 and MagSafe-compatible 15W stands for desks, bedside tables and hotel rooms, from 200 pcs per model.
A stand is decided by mechanical parts that never appear on a wattage label: base mass and grip, so lifting a magnetic phone does not drag the stand across the desk; the angle the upright holds; and where the cable leaves the base. All three are settled at the sample stage rather than adjusted afterwards.

The stand is a use-case decision, not a spec decision
A flat pad and a stand can carry identical electronics and behave completely differently in the customer’s hands. Flat pads are for putting a phone down and forgetting it. Stands are for the places where the phone keeps working while it charges: the desk during the day, the bedside table at night, the counter in a hotel room or a showroom.
That difference drives the mechanical design more than the electrical one. The stand has to hold the phone at an angle without tipping when the phone is lifted, which is a base mass and centre-of-gravity question. A magnetic stand solves the alignment half and makes the tipping problem worse unless the base is heavy enough or gripped well — which is why the interesting engineering in this category is all in the base.
- Base mass and grip. Lifting a phone off a magnetic stand must not drag the stand across the desk.
- Angle and height. Face recognition and video calls need the camera clear of the desk surface.
- Cable exit. Where the cable leaves the base decides whether the stand sits flat against a wall.
Stand, flat pad or foldable?
The three formats sell into different places. Flat pads pack smallest and cost least to ship. Foldable units fold flat for travel and gifting. Stands take the most volume in the carton because of the base — and they are the only format that keeps the phone usable while it charges.
| What you are choosing | Stand | Flat pad or foldable |
|---|---|---|
| Phone usable while charging | Yes — upright, screen readable | No — the phone lies flat |
| Shipping volume | Largest; the base sets the carton size | Smallest; foldable packs flat |
| Desk stability | Designed for it — base mass and grip | Sits flat, so stability is not the issue |
| Typical channel | Retail own-brand, office, hospitality | Gifting, travel retail, in-box accessory |
Stand and pad can share one power stage and one coil, so a range can carry both — see the magnetic charger note for how alignment changes the customer experience.

What you can change on a charging stand
Everything below sits on top of a platform that is already tested, which keeps the sample at 2–3 days and the MOQ at 200 pcs per model.
- Format and angle — fixed upright, adjustable tilt, hinged watch puck, or a weighted 3-in-1 station.
- Base and materials — weighted base, grip pad, ABS or PC shell, bamboo or wood face, PU leather.
- Coils — phone only, or phone plus watch and earbuds on one board.
- Logo and packaging — silk-screen, laser or UV printing, plus a colour box drawn to your artwork.

How a wireless charging stand is built and checked
A stand goes through the electrical gates and one more: base mass, grip and the angle it holds are checked on every unit, since tipping is the failure a customer notices first.
Material preparation and checking
The coil, magnet array, base weight, grip pad, stand column and cable are checked against the approved bill of materials before a board enters the line.
First-piece quality confirmation
The first stand of a run is built and checked for angle and stability as well as charging: lifting the phone must not drag the base across the surface.
Assembly on static-protected lines
Boards are assembled on static-protected lines, and the stand is assembled at its own station where the base mass and grip are fitted and measured.
Visual inspection rounds
Repeat inspections cover coil seating, the angle the stand holds, base mass, grip condition and the finish of the upright face the customer looks at.
Aging under load and electrical testing
Every unit runs an aging cycle under load and is re-measured afterwards — a stand keeps a phone exposed to air, so this is where a thermal difference between stand and pad shows up.
Charging and protocol verification
Output voltage and current are measured on the coil with the phone upright, because the alignment that matters is the one the customer actually charges in.
QA sampling, packing and shipment inspection
Sampling runs before packing, the box and cable are checked against the approved artwork, and the batch report keeps the stand shipment traceable to its production run.
The base is inspected as a mechanical part rather than an accessory: grip, mass and the angle it holds are checked on every round, because tipping is the failure a customer notices first.
Where a charging stand gets specified
Desk and office
Phone readable while charging, for hot-desking and meeting rooms.
Bedside
Standby clock and alarm use keep working overnight, with the camera clear of the surface.
Hospitality
A fixed stand in the room removes the cable hunt and reads as a considered amenity.
Showroom and retail
The phone faces the customer while it charges — a demo platform, not just a charger.
Certifications and what comes with the shipment
The file for a wireless charging stand is assembled from the first sample rather than hunted down before dispatch, so the paperwork matches the market the container is going to.
CE / UKCA
European Union and United Kingdom market access for the finished unit and its power supply.
FCC
United States electromagnetic compliance for the finished unit.
RoHS / REACH
Restricted-substance documentation for the European market.
PSE / KC

Wireless charging stand — FAQs
Can the phone be used while it charges on a stand?
Yes — that is the point of the format. The phone stays upright and readable, so standby clocks, video calls and navigation keep working. On a flat pad the phone lies face-up and that use case disappears.
Does a stand charge more slowly than a pad?
No. The coil and power stage can be identical, and the rate depends on the phone and the alignment. A magnetic stand holds the phone in the coil centre, so it typically holds the higher rate for longer than a flat pad.
Will it tip over when I lift the phone?
That is a base mass and grip question, and it is decided at the sample stage. Magnetic stands need enough mass or grip to resist the pull of the magnet; we confirm it with the phone you actually use.
Can the stand charge a watch as well?
Yes. Stands are built as phone-only, phone plus watch, or full 3-in-1 with earbuds. The watch puck can be fixed or hinged depending on how many watch sizes you need to cover.
What is the minimum order?
200 pcs per model for a branded stand, and the trial quantity can be split between an upright and a folding format so the first order tests two placements rather than one.
How long do samples take?
2–3 days with your logo and finish applied. Mass production runs 7–15 days after sample and artwork approval.
Does the stand come with an adapter?
It can ship unit-only or bundled with a USB-C adapter and cable. The adapter has to match the input requirement, so the two are specified together.
Which certifications apply?
CE, RoHS, FCC, UKCA, PSE, KC, SAA and CB reports depending on the target market, assembled from the first sample rather than before dispatch.
Can it be branded on the front face?
Yes — the upright face and the base are both available for printing, laser etching or UV printing, placed to your artwork.
What is the warranty?
Two years, covering the electronics and the mechanical parts — on a stand the hinge and the base grip are as likely to be the complaint as the coil, and both are inside the same terms. The answer to a claim is a batch report and a corrective action, not just a replacement.
Are wireless charging stands worth it?
They are worth it in one specific case: when the phone keeps working while it charges. A stand keeps the screen readable, so standby clocks, video calls and navigation keep running. If the phone goes away while it charges, a flat pad is cheaper and packs smaller — the electronics can be identical.
What is the best wireless charger stand for my phone?
Start from two facts about the phone: whether it has a magnet ring, and how thick its case is. Those decide whether a magnetic stand holds it in the coil centre, and the rest is placement — desk, bedside or counter — which decides the base size rather than the electronics.
Is there a downside to wireless charging?
The honest one is heat: a wireless transfer loses more energy than a cable, and the losses show up as warmth in the phone and the pad. On a stand the phone is exposed to air rather than lying on a surface, which is one small reason a stand often runs cooler than a pad at the same rate.
Wireless charging stands in more detail — desk, bedside and multi-device formats Know more Know less
Wireless charging stand vs pad vs station
A stand holds the phone upright so the screen stays readable while it charges, which is what makes standby clocks, video calls and navigation work. A pad charges the phone lying flat and costs less. A station is the same idea at the scale of several devices on one base.
All three can share the same coil and power stage, so the format is a decision about the place the charger lives rather than about its electronics.
Multiple device charging stations
A station adds coils rather than ports: a phone coil, a watch puck, an earbuds coil and on the larger formats a second phone coil or a tablet stand. Everything draws from one input, so the station needs its own adapter rather than a desk USB port.
The engineering question is thermal rather than electrical. Coils that sit close together share an envelope, which is why a five-coil base is heavier than the sum of its parts and why the sustained run is the test that matters.
Desk and bedside stands: what buyers specify
On a desk the stand has to hold the phone at an angle that keeps the camera clear of the surface, with enough base mass or grip that lifting the phone does not drag the stand across the desk. At a bedside the priorities shift to a small footprint and a quiet, unlit surface.
Those are mechanical decisions taken at the sample stage, not features that can be added later — which is why we ask where the stand will live before choosing the platform.
Wholesale and OEM wireless charging stands
Stands start at 200 pcs per model, and a trial order can be split between an upright and a folding format so the first purchase tests two placements. Branding covers the upright face, the base and the retail packaging.
Certification is prepared per destination and travels with the branded version, because the electrical design is unchanged.
Stand-up chargers and magnetic stands
A stand also appears in listings as a stand up charger, a charging stand for phone or a magnetic charging stand, and those adjectives describe the same two decisions: whether the stand is magnetic, which fixes the alignment for the customer, and how much base mass or grip the upright needs so that lifting the phone does not move it.
Both are settled at the sample stage rather than chosen from a catalogue, which is why the format question — desk, bedside or counter — comes before the model number.
